The Fatherless Crisis in America

According to the US Census Bureau (2021), 18.4 million kids, 1 in 4 live without a biological, step or adoptive father in the home; countless others lack access to a positive and engaged male role models.

Intervention counts when it comes to reducing offending behavior, mental illness and community disengagements in boys who grow up with absent fathers. Our male-led group mentoring program aims to tool, train and support these boys to thrive.

One alumni of our 12-month group mentoring program, Ethan, speaking of his experience with L.A.U.N.C.H described, “My year didn’t get off to the best start... There were times when I thought no good was going to happen in my life. I was no good. With mentoring, I started to believe in myself and that there were good things coming to me. Throughout the program, I started opening up, and developing trust in others. It was one of the best things that happened to me. It was a joyful year for me.”

The moms and guardians of our participating mentees observe changes in their sons too. Deborah, mom to Julian, shared that even within the first 6 months of L.A.U.N.C.H, “Julian had taken more initiative in his life – more accountability. He was sharing his true feelings and fears.”

Please join us in breaking the cycle of negative impacts created by fatherlessness in America. With your support and generosity, you can help us to L.A.U.N.C.H boys in need into adulthood with resilience, compassion and self-worth!
